Can a failed double-glazing seal be resealed?
No. Once moisture is trapped between the panes, the seal around the edge of the sealed unit has failed and it cannot be made airtight again on site. Drilling and “defogging” treats the symptom, not the failed seal. The durable fix is a new sealed unit, measured to fit your existing frame — usually one visit to measure and a return visit to fit once the unit has been made.
Why a draught is often not the seal
Many “bad seal” call-outs are really a window that has dropped on its hinges or keeps that no longer pull the sash tight. Adjusting or replacing the hinges and keeps can close the gap without new seals, which is why we check the whole window before quoting.
